Roots in Tune partnered up with JM International and our team of passionate volunteers is in full swing, getting everything organised for the second edition of Ethno Ireland that will take place in the village of Roundwood, Co. Wicklow, From August the 17th (arrivals on the 16th.) till August the 23rd. 2026.
This year we’ll be adventurous and we organise a camping edition! For the hikers amongst you, Roundwood is on the beautiful hiking route “The Wicklow Way”, those who wish to hike from Dublin to Roundwood can do so, it’s a very scenic hike, luggage (instrument) pickups can be arranged.
If you’re between 18 and 30 years of age, and you wish to be part of Ethno Ireland 2026, then be quick and secure a spot! applications open on Monday the 25th. of May.

As a participant, you’ll be asked to share a tune, song or even a dance from your traditional music repertoire or culture. You’ll be asked to host a short workshop during the course to share your music with the other participants.
The music sharing happens mainly by ear, so a well trained ear to pick up the tunes is essential. A moderate to advanced skills level is required for participants to join.
If this is your first Ethno to attend, be prepared for a journey that will bring you to many more Ethno’s all over the world, Ethno can be rather addictive!
The participation fee of €350 (same price for all the participants), includes the course, the camping, the food and the excursions. The transport from and to the camp are not included.
Ethno Ireland offers 3 residencies for mobility grant participants approved by the Ethno.World program.
We have a maximum capacity of 25 participants and we’ll keep 5 spots for Irish participants.
