Ethno Bosnia & Herzegovina is a program of Jeunesses Musicales International (JMI) where young folk musicians meet to teach each other, by ear, traditional folk songs from their cultures. Through a combination of workshops, jam sessions, seminars, and performances, musicians have the opportunity to learn a variety of musical styles. Bringing together participants from a variety of cultural backgrounds, Ethno is a space for intercultural learning, friendship, and exchange.
In the first image you can see a part of the atmosphere from our late night jam and here you can see a shot from just outside the Peace Flame House. Because our Ethno is in the summer we usually switch all the time from inside to outside in the sun or the shade, which ever you prefer.
Ethno Bosnia and Herzegovina is mostly held in the wonderful town of Tuzla. The main space where music can be played from dusk till dawn is this big community house called “Kuca Plamena Mira” which translates into the Peace Flame House. It is a place that promotes art and culture for the youth of Tuzla. It has an interesting appearance that simply fits in the nature, cool spaces with good acoustic and an incredible view of the town and the lakes below. It is just underneath a forest which ensures fresh air and infinite space to chill and play music. In 22′ Ethno edition, we will spend 7 days in this house and 4 more days on tour!

What you can see in this photo is just how Peace Flame House blends prefectly with nature, and that is 100% the same as our mindset in Ethno Bosnia Team. We should live in harmony with the nature around us and that is why we try to make our Ethno as eco friendly and environmentally sustainable to be true to our beliefs. As you can see we are located in a big park, just underneath a forest.
Just 5 minutes away from our workshop venue, there are the famous salty lakes of Tuzla where you can decide to spend some refreshing free time between the music jams!
Here is the inside of the house. There are many rooms, all with great acoustics . The floors are made of small pieces of tiles to create a mosaic, which symbolizes that if we all unite our little pieces of the puzzle a whole image will form.
Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina is another town that will be visited as part of EthnoBiH 2022 edition. We will play a big concert in the city center and make a “music street” performance along the main alley during the daytime!
Another concert spot is a mysterious cave in Kladanj, close to Tuzla- “Djevojacka Pecina”.
With its incredible lighting, acoustics and energy it makes a perfect spot for the Ethno crew to enjoy a musical moment.
