Get ready for a musical journey of a lifetime with the Ethno Mobility Grant 2026! If you’re a young musician passionate about folk and traditional music and have been dreaming of joining an Ethno event but need financial support, this is your chance – apply now to the Ethno Mobility Grant!
A Celebrated Program
The Ethno Mobility program is now entering its 8th year! As one of the largest worldwide scholarship programs for folk, world, and traditional musicians, it has supported 80+ musicians each year, thanks to the gracious support of Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies.
Scholarship Guidelines
Inclusivity
To maximize opportunities for young musicians, scholarships are awarded only once per person.
Balance
The Ethno Mobility Team ensures balance across gender, culture, and musical instruments/styles. All placements are coordinated with the 40+ Ethnos worldwide to provide a diverse and inclusive experience.
Important note: Applicants cannot choose their Ethno placement – the grant will match you with a suitable placement! This ensures that no single Ethno has an overrepresentation of the same instrument, gender, or nationality.

Your Ethno journey may be evaluated differently depending on your attendance history. Priority is given to musicians who have never attended an Ethno before.
