Ethno is happy to welcome Lynn Dewitte as our new Global Coordinator.

Based in Brussels, Lynn joins the programme with a strong connection to Ethno’s core values: cultural transmission, intercultural dialogue and supporting musicians in shaping their own artistic paths.

For more than ten years, she’s been working across the traditional, global and jazz music sectors, developing projects that connect artists, audiences and communities through music. Throughout her journey, from artist support and international collaboration to festival coordination and cultural management, one thread has remained constant: a desire to create meaningful spaces where musical diversity can thrive and where artists can experiment, connect and grow together.

Lynn first developed a strong connection with traditional and global music while working at Muziekpublique, where she contributed to the international development of artists and projects, helping promote traditional music across borders and contexts. She later continued this commitment by founding LD Music Agency, a booking and management agency supporting Belgian and international artists working within traditional, global and jazz aesthetics through touring as well as strategic and international development.

Alongside this work, Lynn also took on the role of Artistic Director of Lotto Brussels Jazz Weekend, a large open-air festival held in the heart of Brussels, celebrating jazz in all its diversity and bringing together artists, audiences and communities across the city. She additionally developed initiatives supporting emerging talents and visibility for young artists, notably through projects such as Brussels Jazz Alert and Jazz Up! Europe Belgian Focus.

Lynn is looking forward to this new and exciting challenge and says that what particularly resonates with her in Ethno, is the programme’s unique ability to bring people together through shared musical experience, while valuing oral transmission, listening and exchange across cultures and generations. Present in more than 40 countries worldwide, Ethno represents not only a network of camps, workshops and performances, but a living international community built on trust, curiosity and collaboration.

Over the next few months, she will be working to strengthen connections across the network, supporting organisers in their local realities, and contributing to the long-term development and visibility of the programme. She also hopes to further reinforce Ethno’s commitment to inclusion, sustainability and accessibility, while continuing to create inspiring opportunities for young musicians worldwide.

As she begins this new chapter with JMI and the wider Ethno family, Lynn is excited to meet organisers, partners, musicians and participants across the network and to help shape the next steps of the programme together.
