Ethno Summer Estonia 1998 was the second edition of the youth folk music camp in Viljandi, continuing the initiative inspired by the Swedish Ethno model. At the time, the programme still operated under its early name, Noorte Moosekantide Pillimängupäevad, before officially becoming Ethno Estonia in later years.
The camp followed the core peer-to-peer learning approach, with young musicians teaching each other traditional tunes by ear in a non-formal and collaborative setting. The programme culminated in a collective concert at the Viljandi Folk Music Festival, presenting the music created during the camp.
