Ethno Summer – Estonia 1997

I Attended this Ethno
Ethno Summer Estonia 1997 was the first edition of what later became Ethno Estonia and marked the first time the Swedish Ethno model was introduced abroad. Inspired by their experience in Falun, Krista Sildoja and Tuulikki Bartosikorganized the camp in Viljandi from July 20 to 24, 1997.

Originally called Noorte Moosekantide Pillimängupäevad, the gathering brought together young musicians to learn traditional tunes by ear, focusing on Estonian musical heritage. The camp concluded with a concert at the Viljandi Folk Music Festival, beginning a tradition that continues today.
