Ethno on the road Estonia 2021

ETHNO on the Road Estonia is a follow-up project connected to the main ETHNO Estonia music camp, an international folk-music programme where young musicians gather to learn traditional tunes by ear and collaborate in workshops.

After the summer ETHNO camp, a group of selected young musicians from the camp is brought together for rehearsals and preparation.

Together with one or more professional musicians and educators, this group revisits and arranges music learned during ETHNO, and often explores new material. The rehearsals follow the ETHNO pedagogical style, teaching and arranging music by ear and collectively.

Once prepared, the group goes on tour (“on the road”) to give concerts and workshops, often in different towns or schools. The goal is to share the music and ETHNO spirit beyond the camp’s original location.
