Ethno On The Road is a side-project to the Ethno Estonia camp. This year it takes place for the 6th time. Ethno On The Road gathers outstanding young Estonian and foreign musicians from the Ethno camp, who, under the watchful eye of one leader, put together a concert that brings back the tunes from this year’s camp. Ethno On The Road offers the participants an opportunity to be part of a period of intense preparation and performance, which offers them new ways to develop as musicians.
Ethno On The Road members meet in Männiku Metsatalu. Over 4 days they remember the tunes from Ethno Estonia, practicing and arranging them, even learning some new ones! Ethno Estonia has had a huge impact during its 24 years of operation. It has brought hundreds of new traditional music lovers to our national cultural space. Many young musicians, under the spell of Ethno, have decided to go and study traditional music in either University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy, Estonian Music and Theatre Academy in Tallinn or Heino Eller Tartu Music College. Ethno On The Road is a good opportunity for young musicians to experience a musical tour. Estonian Traditional Music Center contributes to children and youngsters and provides sustainability to the next generations through different children- and youngster-related projects and creates new bridges to young musicians.
