Ethno Cyprus 2008

Ethno Cyprus 2008 marked the third edition of the international youth music camp in Cyprus, held in Limassol and Nicosia as part of the global Ethno network by Jeunesses Musicales International. Organized by Cultural Movement of Limassol Epilogi (Jeunesses Musicales Cyprus), the camp brought together 40 young musicians aged 15–30 from six Mediterranean countries, including Cyprus, Croatia, Belgium, Lebanon, and Jordan.

Following the Ethno peer-to-peer learning model, participants taught each other traditional tunes by ear, exploring shared musical identities across the Mediterranean and Arab worlds. The residency culminated in public performances in Limassol and Nicosia as part of the 3rd Ethnic Festival – Colourful World, where the collective “Ethno Orchestra,” under the direction of Andreas Christodoulou, presented its collaborative repertoire to wide audiences.
