ETHNO Germany – an experience for musicians and dancers from all over the world from 7th until 17th of August 2025 at Castle Lichtenberg, Thallichtenberg, near Kusel, Rhineland-Palatinate.
The ruins of Castle Lichtenberg near Kusel (Palatinate) will provide once again a rustic yet fascinating scenery for musicians and dancers working side by side, creating breath-taking performances, where sound and movement merge together.
About 40 participants will share and explore diverse cultural backgrounds, learn and reinvent traditional music & dances and connect through the power of music & dance.
We will learn music in a peer-to-peer process, which means that everyone will teach and learn. The representatives of a culture will teach a song or a tune to the whole group. So, make sure to prepare yourself in advance for that.
Be it the big spaces of the castle area, the comfort & service of the youth hostel, the professional artistic mentors or the support from the enthusiastic organisers – participants will receive everything they need for days and nights full of music, dance and joy.

Our Ethno with musicians and dancers will happen from 7th until 17th of August 2025 in Castle Lichtenberg, near a little town called Kusel.
Address: Burgstraße 12, 66871 Thallichtenberg, Germany
Closest airport is Frankfurt/Main (FRA). From there you can easily take a train to Kusel Hbf train station. You will receive more detailed travel information from us once you are selected.

– For those who need a visa: until March 31st
– For those who do NOT need a visa: May 31st
(we want to help with the visa process and will apply early to give you time to plan your trip)
You’ll hear from us about decline or acceptance in April and June, AFTER the application deadline.

You can define your own contribution disregarding our suggested rates depending on your personal financial situation.

Generosity Rate – 500 € (or more)
Please be aware that our costs for a single participant are about 800€. Without our sponsors our camp would not be possible. The generosity rate of 500€ covers one participant’s food and lodging at the youth hostel, transportation during camp and artistic mentors & organising team remuneration. You would also support participants that cannot contribute as much!
Middle Rate – 325€ (for participants in Germany)
Please be aware that our costs for a single participant are about 800€. Without our sponsors our camp would not be possible. This middle rate of covers basic costs and allows only artistic mentors to receive a basic remuneration for their work. We acknowledge the geographical distance of participants, travel costs and different life situations.
Middle Rate – 250€ (for participants in Europe)
Please be aware that our costs for a single participant are about 800€. Without our sponsors our camp would not be possible. This middle rate of covers basic costs and allows only artistic mentors to receive a basic remuneration for their work. We acknowledge the geographical distance of participants, travel costs and different life situations.
Basic Rate – 125€
Please be aware that our costs for a single participant are about 800€. Without our sponsors our camp would not be possible. This basic rate enables us to organise Ethno Germany. If this is too much money for you, please contact us. We acknowledge the geographical distance of participants, travel costs and different life situations.
None of the participation contributions include the cost of your transport to and from Thallichtenberg.
Your place is only guaranteed when you transferred your participation fee to our bank account or send us a proof of your flight tickets to Germany.
In the case of cancellation, we will only reimburse the participation fee if it is done 30 days before the beginning of the program. To cancel your participation you must send an email with your bank details to germany@ethno.world

Have you ever wanted to get more insights in the process of producing and recording?
If so, apply to Ethno Studio and experience Ethno in a professional music studio from 7th until 17th October 2025 in Germany, Limburgerhof. The closest airport is Frankfurt.
We invite every participant to bring traditional music from their cultural background and to share it in a peer-to-peer process with the whole group. In addition to learning music by ear, you will also learn to arrange, perform and record music under the guidance of our experienced mentor team that includes Ethno veteran Allan Skrobe!
The Studio will impart technical skills in audio engineering in order to enable musicians to record and produce music by themselves.
