Discover and immerse yourself in the vibrant world of traditional music from around the globe through Ethno! A unique opportunity for young musicians up to 30 years old!
As part of the JMI / Ethno World program dedicated to folk, world, and traditional music, Ethno was founded in 1990 and now operates in over 40 countries. It gathers musicians up to 30 years old, with a mission to (re)vitalize a global cultural heritage while ensuring the preservation of spontaneous creativity.
Ethno takes the form of international residential workshops led by certified mentors. Jeunesses Musicales Wallonie-Bruxelles is partnering for the first time. The residency will take place from August 18th to 26th, 2024, following the “Musiques et voix du monde” Festival in Huy (August 20th-25th). Participants from around the world are already scheduled for 2 concerts, one within the festival on Sunday, August 25th, and another at the Hide & Seek Festival (August 18th-24th) organized by Muziekpublique, on August 24th. Didier Mélon from Le Monde est un Village-RTBF La Première will promote this inaugural edition.
