The Jeunesses Musicales du Liban, in collaboration with Bayt El-Mūsīqā and the Delia Arts Foundation, are creating a project called “Ethno Lebanon presents: A Virtual Introduction to the Musical Heritage of Lebanon” supported by the British Council.
The project begins with a 3-day online training course on the musical heritage of Levantine Lebanese folk music in theoretical and applied aspects where the trainers will introduce Levantine music to local and international participants through various modules. They will also coach them to play a simple folkloric tune on their instrument, sing choruses in Arabic and include elements of traditional dances. We will ask the participants to record their parts which will be assembled into one video that will be included in a virtual concert later on during the summer that showcases performances of traditional Lebanese folkloric tunes.
The training will take place on July 8, 9 and 10 from 16:00 to 19:00 Central European Summer Time (CEST).
