Ethno Sweden 2008

I Attended this Ethno

Ethno Sweden 2008 marked the 19th edition of the original Ethno camp, held in Rättvik in the Dalarna region as part of the global Ethno network by Jeunesses Musicales International. Hosted by Folkmusikens hus and directed by Fredrik Caresten, the camp welcomed around 100 young musicians from approximately 20 countries.

Following the peer-to-peer learning model, participants lived and worked together for ten days, teaching each other traditional folk tunes by ear. A major highlight of the 2008 edition was a performance at Dalhalla, the renowned open-air amphitheatre known for its unique acoustics, where the collaborative repertoire was presented to a wide audience.
